Based in Birkett Long’s Colchester office, Zoe Hosking qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and specialises in criminal law and military cases. She guides her clients through interviews with the Royal Military Police and Court Martial proceedings. Zoe utilises her knowledge of the Armed Forces Act 2006 and how the Armed Forces work to assist her military clients, regardless of their service branch, to achieve their best possible outcome.
Zoe has expertise in various legal matters, including summary hearings, court martials, RMP and DSCU interviews, discipline offences, criminal conduct offences, civilian criminal offences and Army General Administrative Instruction 67 (“AGAI 67”).
Having its main office in the heart of a Garrison, Birkett Long have always shown a commitment to the Armed Forces, especially those based in Colchester, and in February 2022, made a further commitment to the Armed Forces Community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.
In April 2024, following a change of instructing solicitor and counsel in December 2023, defence counsel Archangelo Power of 2 Bedford Row was instructed by the ex-soldier’s new solicitor, Zoe Hosking, of Essex-based law firm Birkett Long.
Together, they successfully represented the accused in a 4-day trial at the Military Court Centre in Bulford. Despite the introduction of recent complaint and medical evidence, the Board returned a unanimous not guilty verdict.
Zoe enjoys being in an advocacy role in court. She appreciates the variety of her work, as she meets a diverse range of people, including members of the Armed Forces. Her passion for criminal law stems from her desire to help those in need during difficult times and ensure everyone is represented fairly.
Birkett Long is committed to standing by our Armed Forces personnel at every step, ensuring they receive the best legal support.
