I enjoy the variety that the job provides. I have been fortunate enough to also work within a number of SME’s before qualifying as a solicitor and therefore have experience of a number of the issues that my clients are experiencing. I believe that my previous business experiences enable me to provide balanced advice, covering both legal and commercial aspects.

I am the Team Leader of the Business Team. The Business Team is made up of a group of excellent lawyers who provide commercial, corporate, regulatory and corporate finance advice to a diverse portfolio of clients.

I enjoy the variety that the job provides. I have been fortunate enough to also work within a number of SME’s before qualifying as a solicitor and therefore have experience of a number of the issues that my clients are experiencing. I believe that my previous business experiences enable me to provide balanced advice, covering both legal and commercial aspects.  I like getting to know my clients and the detailed workings of their businesses so I am able to provide tailored advice to suit their needs and level of risk they are comfortable with.

I work with not for profit organisations and charities as a specialism. These types of organisations are subject to strict regulations which can have a serious impact upon those individuals responsible for their money and operation.

Construction - I am also a part of the Construction team, I am able to offer clients a commercial and legal perspective on contractual negotiations.

I have taken steps to take an active role in my local area, including being appointed:

• A trustee of Firstsite, the art gallery in Colchester which promotes diversity and social inclusion through art;
• A trustee of Open Road, which helps individuals and families to recover from various forms of addictions and operates the SOS bus on Colchester High Street; and
• A director of Our Colchester which operates the Colchester BID and aims to improve businesses in Colchester.
• A trustee of St Helena Hospice, which helps local people face incurable illness and bereavement.
• A governor of Boxted St Peter’s School.

In my free time I am interested in most sports, and either run or cycle most days. I also enjoy cooking and have recently taken up gardening.
