Roger Brice
Consultant Solicitor
Profile
I am a Consultant Solicitor in the Business Team at Birkett Long, specialising in Criminal, Military, and Regulatory Law.
I have spent many years dealing with high-profile cases in the United Kingdom and abroad, achieving successful outcomes and identifying client needs at an early stage. I like winning cases, and an early win is a better win.
I enjoy litigation and persuading a tribunal of the strengths of my client's case.
I have been involved in many aspects of the Criminal, Military, and Regulatory systems. I was a member of The Law Society's standing committee on Criminal Law, Chairman of the UK Forces Law Network, and member of the Criminal Justice Board for Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk. I was also Secretary of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association for England and Wales.
I am a member of the Association of Military Court Advocates and have advised members of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
My roles within the community include being a trustee of the Rural Community Council of Essex, Under Sheriff of Essex, Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, a member of the Essex Wildlife Trust, and a member of the Friends of Essex Churches Trust.
Outside of work, I enjoy sailing, riding, walking, going to the theatre, being with my family, and having good dinners (not necessarily in that order).
Qualifications, Associations & Memberships
I qualified as a Solicitor in 1978.
I graduated with a LLB (Hons).
I have obtained Higher Court Advocacy rights of audience and regularly appear as an advocate in the Higher Courts.
I am a member of the CLSA and LCCSA (and have held office in both), as well as the AMCA.
