We are delighted to announce that Birkett Long has been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Wellbeing Award at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025. This nomination reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace culture that prioritises the wellbeing, resilience, and work-life balance of our team.
The LexisNexis Legal Awards were launched in 2013 to recognise and celebrate excellence and innovation across the legal sector. The awards honour the outstanding achievements and talents of remarkable individuals and teams throughout the profession.
The Wellbeing Award recognises organisations in the legal sector that go above and beyond to create a supportive working environment focused on the mental and physical health of their people. We are honoured to have our efforts recognised on this platform and proud to showcase how wellbeing is central to our ethos at Birkett Long.
Our commitment to wellbeing
At Birkett Long, we believe that a thriving workplace culture begins with placing people at the heart of what we do. With initiatives like our Employee Voice Group, mental health first aiders across three offices, and accessible resources such as wellbeing packages for employees and their families, we continuously strive to ensure our team feels valued and supported.
Every aspect of our culture is designed to empower our people, from mental health days and interactive activities like sports sessions and “Time to Talk” gatherings to structured Continuous Performance Evaluations that encourage growth. Our hybrid working policy, flexible schedules, and recognition programmes further enable team members to balance their personal and professional lives effectively.
A recognition of collective effort
Being shortlisted for this award is a testament to the dedication of everyone at Birkett Long who contributes to making our firm a workplace where people can excel. Whether through management training focused on wellbeing, regular feedback and support structures, or community engagement initiatives that have raised over £270,000 for local charities in the past decade, our efforts are collective and meaningful.
As Joann Kebbell, our Director of HR and Learning & Development, said: “At Birkett Long, we are more than just a law firm – we are a team that values people, whether they are clients, colleagues, or community members.”
Looking ahead
This recognition reaffirms our commitment to advancing our wellbeing initiatives and furthering our mission to create a positive impact, not only within our firm but also in the communities we serve.
We look forward to celebrating the achievements of all finalists at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025, and we remain dedicated to supporting our team in every way possible.
