Birkett Long is delighted to announce that Katie Elsdon has officially qualified as a solicitor in the Wills, Trusts and Probate Team.

Katie’s work includes drafting wills, lasting powers of attorney, probate applications, trust documents, and managing deputyship matters. She also assists with estate and trust administration, ensuring clients’ needs are met while addressing any tax implications.

Katie’s journey into law was driven by a desire to help people during some of the most challenging moments in their lives. While working as a Paralegal before studying to dual-qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive and Solicitor, she discovered her passion for private client work. Katie shares, “I find great satisfaction in making each client’s experience smoother and more rewarding by focusing on their unique needs and long-term goals.”

Katie completed her law studies at the University of Exeter, CILEx Law School and the University of Law and developed a strong interest in private client work, particularly in areas that directly impact individuals and families during significant life transitions. “What drew me to law was the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, especially during difficult times,” Katie reflects.

Katie started work at Birkett Long as a Paralegal in 2018 before commencing her CILEx studies and qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2022. Before dual-qualifying as a Solicitor, Katie has gained extensive experience and honed her skills in Wills, Trusts and Probate matters. “The support and guidance from my colleagues at Birkett Long have been instrumental in my development. The firm’s collaborative culture and commitment to professional growth have allowed me to deepen my expertise,” she adds.

Katie’s commitment to providing exceptional service is reflected in her work. For example, she recently assisted with the administration of a complex estate involving multiple properties and international assets. Her meticulous attention to detail and strategic approach ensured that the process was completed smoothly and efficiently.

Looking ahead, Katie is eager to continue developing her expertise in estate and trust taxation, an area she is particularly passionate about. “I look forward to expanding my knowledge and continuing to support clients in making well-informed decisions that will benefit their families for generations,” Katie says.

Katie’s achievement is a reflection of the firm’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for continuous learning and professional development. Birkett Long places a strong emphasis on nurturing talent and empowering employees to reach their full potential.

We congratulate Katie on reaching this milestone in her career and look forward to the continued positive impact she will make on both our clients and the community.
