Considerate construction - make peace not noise

Watch the video below from our webinar held on 30 June 2021.

This webinar was led by Perdeep Grewal who was joined by guest speaker Dave Clarke from SRL Technical Services.

The webinar covered all the key legal aspects of construction noise and vibration. It addressed the powers local authorities have to counter unacceptable noise and vibration via the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (Section 60), Environmental Protection Act 1990 (Sections 79-82) and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (Section 183). It also looked at the remedies available to constructors to avoid prosecution such as Best Practicable Means and entering into Section 61 Agreements with local authorities. Real world examples were presented to illustrate the use of these Acts in practice.
