Birkett Long is delighted to announce that they have won the Award for Excellence in Marketing at the Countywide Business Awards 2021.
The Marketing team’s submission was based on their BLTwoHundred campaign, which celebrated Birkett Long’s 200th anniversary in 2021. 200 years’ experience has taught the firm that it’s not just about knowing the law, it’s also about the impact we have on our communities. So, throughout the year the firm carried out as many random acts of kindness as they could in the local community as well as taking a look back at their rich history.
For as long as the firm can remember, community has been at the heart of Birkett Long’s business. This campaign involved the whole business across all three offices in Colchester, Chelmsford and Basildon. Each individual team gave unexpected gifts to over 3,000 people in total, including charities they work with, clients, business partners, suppliers, colleagues and all those that have been involved in the firm’s history, making them what they are today.
Random acts of kindness were all sourced where possible from small local businesses and have included:
- 1100 care packs for hospice staff and volunteers
- 360 care packs for local GPs
- Flowers, afternoon teas, doughnuts, cakes, and wine
- 160 coffee vouchers
- Local hampers
- 575 bespoke bags of sweets
- Garden equipment for a local charity
- 500 Easter eggs
Jennie Skingsley, Associate and Marketing Manager at Birkett Long, said: “I am grateful to the Essex Business Awards for acknowledging our team’s efforts in bringing this campaign to fruition. We are so excited to be recognised. Our BLTwoHundred campaign, celebrating our firm’s 200th anniversary, has been our favourite campaign ever. I would also like to thank my marketing team and my Birkett Long colleagues for engaging with the campaign so enthusiastically, it would not have worked without them. Thank you also to all the recipients of random acts of kindness who kindly shared their gifts with us on social media, that’s been the real joy, seeing the surprise and delight of others!”
