Incorporating a company is generally a three-step process.

Step one when incorporating a company

  • Search the Companies House database to see if your choice of company name is available.
  • There are some restrictions on the choice of company names. For more information on restricted names, please contact the team.

Step two when incorporating a company

  • Download the relevant company formation form – either to set up a company limited by guarantee, or set up a company limited by shares.
To complete the form you will need:
  • Names of the director(s) of your company
  • Who will act as your Company Secretary (if required - Birkett Long can provide this service for you)
  • Residential addresses and dates of birth for all directors
  • Where you intend keeping your registered office (Birkett Long can provide this service for you)
  • Who your shareholders will be and how many shares they will each have
  • If you would like a same day service

Step three when incorporating a company

Once we have received your completed form, and before proceeding with the formation, Birkett Long will contact you to confirm all of the details, any individual requirements and to confirm our fees. If you proceed, once the company formation is complete, we will provide you with fully written up company books and all of the company documentation that you require.
