SIPP and SSAS FAQ
What are promotion agreements?
Self-Invested Personal Pension or SIPP for short are pension plans that allow an individual to choose how their savings are invested such as commercial property. Alternatively, an individual can set up a Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) usually in the name of a limited company for privately run businesses to benefit the directors and family employees. Trustees are appointed to have control over the scheme’s assets and investments.
Our legal advice for SIPP and SSAS includes:
- Buying and selling property into a pension fund
- Leases, assignments, subletting and other property management issues
- Securing mortgages against pension properties
- Transferring properties between pension funds, or taking them into the pension fund as beneficiary contributions
- Producing standard form documentation that covers a trustee’s key requirements
- Structuring transactions to meet pension regulation requirements
