Tracey Dickens

I am responsible for looking after our business clients and acting as the key contact for many of them – carrying out their legal work or signposting them to specialists in the firm. I enjoy the wide variety of businesses that we assist and the wide variety of work and advice they need, giving me the opportunity to provide definitive advice and recommendations. I like the professional nature of the work and the environment in which it is delivered, which also involves working closely with our clients' accountants, banks, surveyors etc.

I specialise in the health sector, advising in particular on care home transactions. I also specialise in medical partnerships, acting for doctors and other health professionals for over 20 years in relation to partnership and business matters.

I regularly advise higher education providers in relation to their commercial contractual and GDPR related matters, working in particular with the University of Essex and the Colchester Institute.

On 1 June 2022, I became the Head of Commercial Department, which involves overseeing our Commercial offering, ensuring it meets the requirements of our clients. The role also involves sitting on the Firm’s oversight board enabling me to get more involved in the strategy and direction of the our Firm. Before, this I was the head of the Commercial and Corporate Finance Team for 13 years, which involved recruiting and retaining excellent lawyers and assisting the junior lawyers to develop their skills and specialist areas of law.

In my free time I enjoy golf playing each weekend wherever possible, winter and summer and enjoy golfing holidays with my husband.

I love music mainly rock and blues rock and I enjoy concerts. I also enjoy travelling – usually with a set of golf clubs – but also to see the wide world we live in. Kenyan Safari and South American (Peru, Argentina and Brazil), and a deep south music related American road trip are the current highlights.
